UNB advancing artificial intelligence and data science with $2.5 million commitment
University of New Brunswick (UNB) alumnus Dick Carpenter (BA '72) and the McKenna Institute are pleased to announce a gift of $2.5 million to advance the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science at UNB. AI and data science have become essential elements in the creation of effective digital products and services. AI depends on large data sets for developing reliable predictive models and data science relies on AI algorithms to extract meaningful features from data sets. This interdependence has resulted in AI and data science becoming increasingly intertwined and dependent upon advances in math, computer science and software engineering. This gift will support the development of interdisciplinary AI and data science research across UNB's faculties and campuses. It was secured through the ambassadorship of UNB alumnus and former New Brunswick premier The Hon. "We tend to think of AI in terms of social media algorithms," said Dr. Paul J. Mazerolle, UNB's president and vice-chancellor.

Data Science vs Artificial Intelligence - Eliminate your Doubts - DataFlair
Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, are the two most important technologies in the world today. While Data Science makes use of Artificial Intelligence in its operations, it does not completely represent AI. In this article, we will understand the concept of Data Science vs Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, we will discuss how researchers around the world are shaping modern Artificial Intelligence. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence are the most commonly used interchangeably.
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for Healthcare Innovation
In the healthcare industry, data science and artificial intelligence (AI) play a pivotal role in bringing together innovation and patient care and they have the potential to transform how healthcare is delivered. Healthcare data open the road to many discoveries. For example, it provides the foundation to run medical evaluation and to produce more effective drugs more quickly. Data scientists are using powerful predictive analytical tools to detect chronic diseases at an early level and to identify successful interventions quickly. Analytical tools will make possible to identify more quickly the best drug for a certain treatment as well as the most efficient route to produce it.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in HR - Tesseract Academy
The acquisition of good talent is among the greatest challenges faced by HR managers today. As a result, AI hiring technologies are emerging rapidly as a focus area for HR. Most startups are now using AI in addressing the long-standing challenges of candidate identification, engagement, and onboarding to improve the efficiency in the hiring process and reach the goals of ROI. For years, AI has been used by recruiters and agents though it wasn't as sophisticated as it is currently. For instance, it is now fairly popular to search hundreds of CVs with an AI-enabled Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to check for specific phrases and keywords. Therefore, AI is useful to recruiters to reduce the time spent going through applications.

Defining definition: a Text mining Approach to Define Innovative Technological Fields
Giordano, Vito, Chiarello, Filippo, Cervelli, Elena
One of the first task of an innovative project is delineating the scope of the project itself or of the product/service to be developed. A wrong scope definition can determine (in the worst case) project failure. A good scope definition become even more relevant in technological intensive innovation projects, nowadays characterized by a highly dynamic multidisciplinary, turbulent and uncertain environment. In these cases, the boundaries of the project are not easily detectable and it is difficult to decide what it is in-scope and out-of-scope. The present work proposes a tool for the scope delineation process, that automatically define an innovative technological field or a new technology. The tool is based on Text Mining algorithm that exploits Elsevier's Scopus abstracts in order to the extract relevant data to define a technological scope. The automatic definition tool is then applied on four case studies: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The results show how the tool can provide many crucial information in the definition process of a technological field. In particular for the target technological field (or technology), it provides the definition and other elements related to the target.
